Mr Wippy and the Conettes
Mr Wippy and the Conettes is a 20 min song and dance show performed in front of an antique ice cream van.
The cheesecake styling is reminiscent of 1950’s Hollywood MGM musicals, tailored to suit family audiences. The theme of the show is ice cream. The characters; Mr Wippy- the compere and crooner, Knickerbocker Glory (AKA Strawberry Sauce) – the leading lady and The Conettes- the two-strong chorus line, all sing and dance to familiar Hollywood musical numbers with rewritten lyrics.
There is a simple narrative to the show; that of fulfilling your destiny: “She (Strawberry Sauce) is not just a sauce, she’s a Knickerbocker Glory!”
Immediately after the show, the cast offer short tap dance workshops to members of the audience. All ages welcome.
